ANALYSIS OF MEDICARE

INTRODUCTION

Medicare is presenting itself as a larger problem then it is worth. As a whole, the health care system is a good idea. I believe everyone deserves some help on medical bills, but it is not monetarily possible. We are now paying 7.9 billion dollars towards Medicare alone. Now we are running into the same problem that Social Security is going through. Medical services for the elderly are coming straight out of the younger generations salaries. These problems began to surface as the baby boomers began to retire. Now we are left with the question, who is going to pay for my Medicare when I get older?
Now, we are left with the big question, how can we fix this problem? These is not an easy question which has much more complex answer. Some people would say Socialized Medicare would be the best thing for us. Others would strongly disagree and say privatizing health care is the only solution. For now politicians will not take an active stance toward any direction. Instead, they spend most of the time promising things they cannot do, tweaking the health care system as it is, and balancing on the fence between socialism and conservatism.
When dealing with health care the elderly are the first ones to talk about. Ages 65 and older are largest group of Medicare users, and therefore the target for possible solution or disaster. The elderly account for 89 percent of all Medicare beneficiaries.
In this report I will try to give the best solution for The United States as a whole. Everybody cannot have everything, and still have good adequate health care. I will do my best in describing the difference in health care plans, as well as, who will benefit from them.
