Introduction and Causes
The term muscular dystrophy (MD) refers to a group of muscle diseases that make the muscles weakend and easy to damage. Mostly your voluntary muscles, become weaker. In the late stages of muscular dystrophy, fat and connective tissue often replace muscle fibers. In some types of muscular dystrophy, heart muscles, other involuntary muscles and other organs are affected. The most common types of muscular dystrophy result in dramatic physical weakness which leads to lose the ability to walk, sit, breathe easy, and move your arms and hands. In most cases, the genetic abnormality for muscular dystrophy is inherited, so the condition tends to run in families.

Signs and Symptoms
This all depends on the type of muscular dystrophy.
Duchenne's muscular dystrophy - Most severe case as most die by the age of 20. Symtoms include frequent falls, weakness in legs, and mild mental retardation.
Becker's muscular dystrophy - Similar to Duchenne, but symtoms start......
