By turning on the radio and scanning through the stations many types of music can be heard. Rock music a very popular genre dominates many stations, however techno music, to some unheard of, is a popular music to those who appreciate it. Music of any type cannot be said that it is better than another; while techno and Rock differ greatly in sound they do have some similarities and many differences when compared.
Techno music has only one thing that is in nearly every song: that is repetition. Techno music's bass beat usually consists of one or two beats accompanied by a short electronic sounded melody, both are played a number of times in a row throughout the song, switching periodically to another beat and melody that while different still sounds the same. Rock music, however, has a sound that of many notes are played in different orders to give a new sound each time they are played.
Lyrics are really thought out and have a meaning or story to tell in rock music. The chorus may be the only time lyrics are repeated in a rock song, and when the singer is singing the lyrics out side of the chorus it may be the only time that gets said in the song. A few songs say differently but techno music contains very few lyrics that are very repetitive. Many techno songs have no lyrics what so ever but more often than never you might find an instrumental rock song too.
Like all genres techno songs vary greatly in sound; techno has a large amount of sub genres like: house, garage house, trance, progressive trance, goa trance, hardcore, happy hardcore, jungle, club, club house, and industrial to name a small percentage of the vast amount of techno styles or genres. Rock, hard rock, soft rock, and alternative rock pretty much make up the different styles of rock, this does not mean it is boring or plain because each artist adds their own special touches to make their music different from any other.
