My Beliefs
I believe that God exists, and human beings have the opportunity to have a personal relationship with him. I believe He created the world and created man in his own image. He is not a god of wrath; He is a loving and compassionate being. He knows every individual by name and wants everyone to have a relationship with him; He is not exclusive.
I believe that heaven and hell exist, and an individual cannot get to heaven by good works alone. A person can only get to heaven through a personal relationship with Jesus, God's son. Jesus came to earth in human form. The thing that set him apart from other humans was that he was perfect. He never did anything wrong. It is human nature to sin, and it has been like that since the beginning of time. It is impossible for an individual to live his whole life without sinning. God is holy, and sin is everything that is against holiness. Sin separates people from God. Jesus was sent to Earth to cover up our sins so we could know God and reach heaven. Jesus was a sacrifice for all mankind because he was pure. He was crucified on a cross, and his blood was atonement for our sins. Because of Jesus' death, God forgives our sins. We no longer have to be separated. In order to be forgiven, all we have to do is pray. We have to admit that we are sinners and ask for the forgiveness of our sins. God will forgive all the sins in our lives, even future sins. After this prayer, we have a relationship with Jesus and are able to go to heaven when we die. Even when we become Christians, we still continue to sin because it is human nature, but we should strive not to do wrong because of our realization that Jesus died for us.
