My Journey to Become a Lawyer
¡§Sabrina, you¡¦ll never make it!¡¨ That¡¦s what my classmates and friends in High school used to tell me, ¡§You¡¦re not smart enough, you¡¦re not serious enough, you¡¦re not committed enough. Sabrina, you¡¦ll never make it!¡¨ I had so much discouragement from my peers that I almost believed them. But my parents and closest friends are supportive, and they believed in me. ¡§You can make it, Sabrina,¡¨ they said.
Well, I did make it; I am now in my senior year at Cambridge University. After my friends¡¦ so called ¡§motivation¡¨, I pushed myself harder than ever, and came out with top grades in the majority of my classes in High school. I worked very hard to prepare for the IB examinations, which I am to pleased to say, I passed with flying colors, much to everyone¡¦s amazement.
Cambridge is one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in the United Kingdom, and the world. It was founded in 1209, and has been at the pinnacle of the English university system for a long long time, in many subjects. Along with Oxford, Cambridge is considered to be the one the two premier schools in the UK, hence the term Oxbridge, to refer to the standards of excellence of these two universities.
Just being here evokes emotions of belonging to a community of scholars. Looking around on the campus, the buildings alone remind how old this amazing school of learning really is.
¡§So what do you plan on doing after you¡¦re done here at Cambridge?¡¨ Asks one of my favorite professors. Then suddenly my mind flashes back to my senior year of high school.
