My Philosophy For Teaching Physical Education
I believe no matter what subject you teach, you should have the same goal. My
philosophy of teaching is pretty simple. I believe to be a successful teacher, you must know that
your students have left your class with the knowledge and the skills that were taught to them.
To teach physical education there are several things that should be done. Being skilled in
many different areas of physical education is a bonus because when teaching the students, you'll know exactly what you're talking about. It's hard to teach someone something in an area that
you're not familiar with. Knowing the difference of how to teach kids all ages is probably one of the most important areas that not only a physical education teacher will benefit from, but any subject you're teaching. There's a difference in not only how you handle kids of different ages, but what kinds of games and activities you play in physical education class. In order for your students to leave your class knowing that they have learned what was taught to them, there are a different strategies you can use. Involvement is a major issue in class. If students are involved and interested in your class, they will want to learn. As everyone says, "practice makes perfect." This statement fits best with teaching. The more you help the students, the better they will learn. There are many other different things teachers may do so their students leave their class with the knowledge but it depends on the teacher's preferences.
Whether you're teaching math or physical education, people should have the
knowledge of what they are teaching. I also believe that one should have the drive and desire
with the particular subject that one may teach. These key areas will help me to become a successful teacher who will know when my students leave the class with the knowledge of the subject.
