My Place

As I sit and look across the water and see the reflection of the moon, I wonder if this is the only place on earth that makes me feel so at peace. Now I know there are probably plenty of others, but this one is mine. This place is where I come to rest to get away or just to feel so humble that it brings tears to my eyes. If anyone looks for this ravishing place, that is so close to my heart, they might never find it but it is beautiful, peaceful, and completely breath taking. It is the Isles of Shoals that borders New Hampshire and Maine.
When I sit in this very spot, I can see the beautiful ocean rounding the edge of the globe and the sun rise with the moon following it through the sky. Along in the distance, the lines of the sun are fading off the coast of the Isles of Shoals. When I look at the water I see the different colors change from a pale green in the morning to a deep blue in the evening. It is such an outstanding view. The rock towers, that seem to stand through the roughest of weather, catch the eye of a person nearer to see the land disappear, and the rock gardens, that are bordering the ocean, holds their many different personalities and make such an entrance for our visitors. Each garden contains crabs, snails, clams, muscles, and starfish. These are such a blessing to have and the thought of God’s living creatures, which he made so delicate, pilled in the gardens each to his own. And twice a day these gardens become part of the great Atlantic Ocean once again. Afterward the crabs, snails, muscles, and starfish return to be new and different every time.
As the peaceful tide rises, the mist sprays each toe as if the ocean knew the correct pattern my feet were facing and the smell will overwhelm a person like a fresh ocean breeze out of a glade candle.
