Pumpkin Picking (Narration)
Halloween is fast approaching and for a little girl it could not get here quicker. It is not the ghost and gobbles that excites her most, it is the fields of pumpkins of all sizes, shapes, and color is what she longs for. Squeezing her eyelids as tight as she can and hopes sleep will find her. She dreams of what the next day has in store for her. Thoughts of horses, cows, goats, and big ugly pigs dance in her head.  
The sun pecks in thought the shads to wake Brooke-Lynn from her sleep. Stretching her body like elastic, she suddenly remembers what today is. Pictures on the walls and the vase that holds Aunt Lou shake as she thunders through the house to wake her sister. “Breanna Breanna wake up its punkin picking day” she said. Half-asleep Breanna got into the shower. Brooke followed. You would have thought Tennessee had won the National Championship the way she was acting about going to the pumpkin patch.
Away they went. The car ride must have taken three hours it seemed like to her. Finally, they pulled into the gravel parking lot to pumpkin heaven. Leaping from the car like an antelope into the cold wind, she went wiping around her. Then she stopped. Looking around her, she saw much more then she could have imagined. Then she snapped back into reality, when her sister grabbed her by her cold hand to lead her to the admission table. “May I see you arm sweet heart”, the kind old woman said, as she rapped an orange band around her arm.
She gazed at the activities. The slide was her first adventure. Sliding down at supersonic speeds, her hair flow. Then to the corn wagon, she trampled. By the time Breanna got over to her, she was completely covered in corn. Still shaking corn from her pant, Brooke-Lynn tuck off towards the petting zoo. The vibration from the animals’ lips as she feed them tickled her down to the bone. The calf interested her the most, however. He was just a month old with a mostly white coat. “His name is Cowey”,...
