Today I would like to take the opportunity to speak with you about the growing career field of network and computer systems administration. This is an excitingly fast growing field in the information technology industry. As an information technology professional myself, I pride myself on staying current with new technology in my field. I began my career as a desktop support technician about two years ago. I am currently employed with British Aerospace Engineering in their information technology department. Since I was young I have had an interest in technology and all things computer related. For me, looking into the case of a computer or server is like a surgeon looking into the human body. A career as a network and computer system administrator is a wonderland of opportunity. I hope to highlight in this paper the basic responsibilities and job duties, salary, education requirements, and opportunities for advancement in this career field. Also I hope to give detail regarding just how great a career as a network and computer systems administrator is. The number one benefit in my opinion in this career field is job security. There will always be a need for professionals in this field. Also, a career as a network and computer systems administrator will allow me the schedule and financial freedom I desire. I have a family and both my time, and my ability to support them well is paramount. Threw my research for this presentation I would like to learn more about the proper education for this career field. Additionally I hope to learn new things that could give me a competitive edge when seeking a position as a network and computer system administrator as this is a competitive career field.
