1. An effective business message is both forthright and informative. It states the purpose or need for the message leaving no doubt as to its purpose.

2. The business message clearly states pertinent facts, both pro and con, relative to the issue in an easily understood and accepted language.

3. Information is given in easily grasped visuals to assist in ready comprehension.

4. Effective messages are written with a particular group in mind. The target group knows it is accountable for, and to, the contents of the message.

5. Business messages are convincing and persuasive, swaying the reader to its intende4d purpose.
