Comparing the North and the South isn't very tough because of the differences economically and culturally. The North differs from the South because the North is mostly based on industries, the mills, and factory plants. A big part to the North's Industrial development is because it was created in the early 1800's in the shipping development of the Erie Canal it made the city of Rochester change from a small town to a booming city with over 20,000 people. The Culture of the north differs from the South in that in the 1800's the second Great Awaking occurred and the talk of religion overtook many Northern towns.
The Second Great Awaking was a revival of the part of the religious presence of a great enthusiasm that had taken over the hearts of many Northerners.
