Mutietnical Tolerance
Life… As long as we’re alive, we are “fated” to live among people that
we have nothing in common with. We face different physical appearances,
opinions, outlooks, customs, languages and religion.
Very often (even involuntary) we think that people who are different,
are also strange or villains… We prejudice. We discriminate. We put
ourselves and the similar ones on a tableland. We don’t think that someone
could do the same to us that we do to others, because we consider ourselves
as the best of what there is… The best nation, or that we have the most
preferable skin color, or that our language is the most prolific. And we all
know that this isn’t right, but it’s the easiest and most self-encouraging
thing to do.
Why don’t we all quit thinking just inside our small box of iron? Why
don’t we look carefully all around? And why don’t we all start listening to
what THEY say? We are all people. It doesn’t matter how we look, what
language we speak and which God we worship. We all breathe the same air, we
all cry and laugh the same… We all born the same way, we are all under the
same sky.
This is why we should treat all the people the same. Let’s show that we
are able to make compromise and that we are virtuous enough to understand
and love the people. If we all start tolerating a bit more, and start
judging a bit less, the world will be a better place to live in. So why
don’t we try? I believe it’s worth it!
