Managing companies in the 21st century has changed in many ways compared to the managing system used in the past. Starting from the structure of the organization itself, how they plan, how they make decision, up until how they doing things; but one thing that has not changed is that organizations which complete with an outstanding result never neglect their planning. Every organization competes with each other to perform better in accordance to others. These changes are made in order to form a better organization each day as well as better results at the end of all progress. This essay will examine why organizations that fail to plan are in essence planning to fail, as well the types of organizational plans; hence the link between planning and strategic management process.
Strategic planning has a loaded record in most businesses is thoughtful of military structures. These early structures were employed because of the utilization of chain of command directives, communication and control mechanisms. Strategic planning permits the supervisor to systematically determine organizational direction. This planning facilitates exactness. Throughout the years strategic planning has developed to include two main commands large scale planning and route of operations. Strategic large scale planning is a fundamental process of successful organizations described in categories among those we have marketing, growth, employees, association, public relations and the financial part. The planning process is guided by the marketing strategy in developing distribution mechanisms to get the products and services into the hands of the consumers. Economy’s demand for growth, bigger and bigger market share, more and more products, mandates that the organization continually question the basic operational procedures and their growth abilities.
