THE THEMES
The theme that Tony Wilson displayed throughout the entire novel is simply a mockery of the seriousness and the desperation involved in sports journalism. Wilson shows in a comical and in an over the top style of how far people can go just for the sake of entertainment and ratings.

Why did I choose the book?
I chose to read this book because I had high expectations of it. This was due to people recommending it to me and telling me that it was funny.
What did I already know?
I already knew a bit about the book such as the main theme of a football TV show simply from reading the blurb and looking at the front cover.

What predictions did I have?
I didn’t predict too much before the book and even if I need I would have been miles off predicting correctly.
My expectations before reading the book?
I expected the book to be quite good due to the feedback that I had received about it and because the topic is one of my favourite things, AFL football.
WHILE READING THE BOOK
What are some elements or the text and are some reactions as you read?
The elements that I felt vary throughout the book some of them are embarrassment, comical, shock and also curious. Some different reactions that I felt were sympathy, humour, stupidity and also anger.
How does your attitude towards the characters change throughout?
My attitude changed about two of the main characters, one is Tickets Thompson where I went from thinking that he was an inconsiderate jerk to feeling sorry for him due to his circumstances. The other is Billy Nock who you think is just a normal person to thinking that he is a bit over the top and excessive.
