makes both parent and child uneasy. Some argue that the discussion of sex between

parent and child could lead to the child experimenting with sexual intercourse

prematurely. Others believe that educating children helps to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

Unwanted pregnancy among young adults is a root cause of various social challenges

associated with poverty.

The prevention of teen pregnancy among young adults can be accomplished by

educating young adults. Sexual education promotes an awareness of the outcome of the

any decision regarding a sexual experience. Educating the youth also establishes some

other preventive measures. A new study reveals that sex education greatly boosts the

likelihood that teens will delay having sex.(Science Daily, 2007). Learning the facts

about sexual behavior and alternatives to partaking in such behavior will aid young adults

in making the right decision. Teenagers become bored easily. The mind of a teen is

constantly going. Involvement in community activities, a church organization, volunteer

programs, or even family outings can contribute greatly to the need to be involved. Most

preoccupied teenagers, whether mentally or physically, will not be easily distracted. Any

sense of responsibility grounds a teen, giving a sense of pride. Parents should always

observe the behavior of a teen’s friends, as well. Without a strong family bond, a teenager
