Race, Class, And Gender On Film

The movie, “A Time to Kill”, has been said to be the “Hollywood modernized” version of “To Kill a Mockingbird”. It is a film that explores the struggle a black man faces to have a fair trial n a redneck, racist   town called Canton, Mississippi. A young African American girl is brutally raped by two redneck men, Pete and Billy Ray. The girl is found and rushed to the hospital and the two men are later arrested after bragging about the rape at a local bar.
