RACISM IN NOWADAYS
Nowadays everybody think that racism movement finishes too many years ago, but if you take a look around the world you can see a lot of racism situations. Although many parents believe their children are oblivious to racial differences, research indicates otherwise. Researcher Phyllis A. Katz has been conducting studies on children's development of racial attitudes for the past two decades. In a recent study, she showed 6-month-old infants several pictures of African Americans and then showed the infants a picture of a white American. The babies looked at the last picture for a significantly longer time, suggesting they were aware of the difference. (The study also included showing infants several pictures of white Americans and then showing them a picture of an African American, with the same result: the babies looked at the last picture for a significantly longer time, indicating they were aware of the difference). The study was conducted on 100 white infants and 100 African American infants, with the same results.
For all the people in general is strange because in these days, all the people accept that there isn't any race, all the people are the same, we are humans, but this is only in a theorist way, an Utopia. Is true that now for example Black writers haven't problems in the majority of cases to publish their books, now is different than in the states too many years ago, during the racial segregation the Black writers used their writings as a loaded gun against racial prejudices, or like when a black person was walking across the street and the rest of the people looked at him like if this person was an animal or something like that ,fortunately all of these point are changing but in our day other kind of racism is having force, not only against black people , gypsies, Arabic, etcÂ… suffer discrimination everyday.
Many parents believe children develop racial attitudes similar to those held by their parents....
