This paper is a Gap Analysis of Riordan Manufacturing. This paper will identify the issues, opportunities and the perspectives of stakeholders that currently face Riordan Manufacturing. Riordan Manufacturing is a global plastic producer employing 550 people with projected annual earnings of 46 million. Over the past two years Riordan has experienced declining sales which threaten the financial security of the organization and its stakeholders. Employee turnover rates are up during the past 12 months, and from a recent employee survey, job satisfaction, work ethics, motivation and loyalty of the employees is decreasing.
Riordan’s present issues and opportunities force key leaders and top executives to make some overdue changes. The necessary changes that are needed to build a comprehensive business strategy and teamwork among the departments.

Riordan Manufacturing scenario has several issues and potential opportunities are presented. Pay level systems, compensation, planning, rewards, career development and training are a few of the issues facing Riordan. As Riordan faces their many issues it will also allow for the opportunity to make changes.
Compensation. Key leaders and the employees are concerned about the lack of a compensation policy. This causes a lack of employee motivation and a high turnover of employees. The Chief Operation Officer, Hugh McCauley doesn’t feel that compensation is an issue. The Vice President of Sales& Marketing is an advocate for compensation. Dale Edgel, Chief Financial Officer, feels the current compensation is adequate. The different views of the current compensation policy cause a rift in key leaders’ workings under one concept.
