2. Economic Forces. The economy in the U.S. has been bad since 2001. The market recovery has been slow and because of the slow recovery the market has seen its lowest in consumer spending that could impact B & T Outdoor Sales. However there are signs in the economy that it will recover and this will enable the company to gain revenues and profits. 3. Political and Legal Forces. Post et al (2002) stated that “to be successful, a business must think strategically objectives and how specific political issues and opportunities relate to those objectives, the involvement of the company’s stake in the issue and the possible consequences of the proposed action.” Large businesses using political strategies to acquire, develop, and use power to obtain an advantage over smaller businesses are likely to be engaged in trying to influence what government does by their financial, organizational, and strategic public policy involvement. The smaller company must start working with others in the political process to secure the intellectual property laws that will protect future generations of ideas and products from piracy, before the product line is introduced. A seasoning company that develops flavoring products has a long-term strategic interest in strong “copyright laws” and other “intellectual property protection” (IPP) to prevent piracy of idea and products. (Post et al 2002). Because of Hunting the Woods product line being already developed and on the market for over 18 months, there should not be any political forces at this time that would obstruct this product line from continuing on the market.
