Young women rebelled against convention, the mob scene dominated crime, and riveting jazz music produced the essentials of urban America. Bootleg whiskey was in abundance as the Prohibition Act was in effect. Dancing was newly accepted by many church organizations. Sigmund Freud had achieved acclaim for his mental sickness and others sought intellectual change on a broader level. The culmination of this urbanization in the 1920s posed a significant moral implication in the lives of fundamental conservatives.
