Wow Addiction
Today's world is run by technology, where a lot of people live in cyber space. Video games are widely used all around the world, and the ruling computer game is World of Warcraft, aka WOW. More than Ten Million player are interested in this game for many reasons, most importantly that this game can be part of your everyday life where it apparently gives players the sense of competition and achievement. This game is very addictive and in my opinion the most apparent reasons for the addiction are social reasons, need for exploration, and sense of competition.
First, WOW allows players to get to know many other players from different nationalities. The chatting option allows the players to meet people and form guilds that are like cyber space gangs, where you have to go into competitions against other guilds and other powerful bosses. Many of the players keep in touch with real life friends and relatives through the game. Also, many make new friends that discover that their addiction to the game is their most important in common thing, and that is the reason for their future friendships.
Second, the need of exploration and getting more from the game are reasons for the addiction. The game is never endless, where a player would never reach the end of the game since there are so far level 70s and the game is non-ending. On the other hand, there is the update that is coming next month that would add 10 more levels to the character. So, a player is always intrigued to know more and explore the game more, and never have the heart to quit any time soon.
Third, the sense of competition that the game offers, in which the game offers a player versus player option and that great sense of achievement when a player wins over a higher level player.
