The Story Of Bett And Boo
The campus event that I attended was entitled The Marriage of Bettie and Boo. The Marriage of Bettie and Boo was a play about a couple who in the beginning was so in love but in the later stages of their marriage things began to fall apart due to a number of circumstances. Two of the main circumstances were Boo's drinking problem and the unfortunate condition that prevented Bettie from having children.
The Marriage of Bettie and Boo was a very good play. There were a lot of scenes that were hilariously funny and there were other scenes that made me want to break down and cry. For example Bettie's father was deaf and when he talked he mumbled. I don't advocate making fun of anyone who has a handicap but how he talked really made the play funny. On the flip side, the fact that Bettie had one child and could not have any more was very sad to me. For her to try to have children on five different occasions and to have all of them die but one was tragic and horrific.
