A supervisor learns many different things before one becomes a supervisor and after one becomes a supervisor. This manual will help a supervisor with all the issues that may arise. Most supervisors are very patience and will have no major issues that arise, but on some occasions, supervisors will have to deal with more than their fair share of hectic issues. There is one thing a supervisor must be care full of, that is humor. Because, one must try not to cross any kind of lines like race, age, size, or sex (LifeTips, 2008).
Demonstrating Communication Skills
Communication skills are a key in being a good supervisor. There are two key skills a supervisor must use speaking and listening (Rue & Byars, 2004)There are other things that are involved besides these two skills that are called other activities (Rue & Byars, 2004)Communication is important as a supervisor and being able to communicate properly will help do the job well. Organization is a good part of communication skills a supervisor needs to be organized in order for the supervisor to get things across clearly. Charts: Management may use charts to show what he or she, would like done. Charts may also show what has been done and the progress thus far in the project (Rue & Byars, 2004).
Spoken communication: this is an important part of being a supervisor or of any type of manager (Bishop, 2002-2008).   Having open communication is a big key in being a good supervisor because; when one has good oral skill he or she will be able to communicate everything that needs to be done. In order to get directions across as a supervisor one must be able to communicate affectively to his or her staff. The supervisor must also make sure when passing on oral direction that the staff comprehends what the supervisor is asking of them. The supervisor may also ask them to repeat the direction back.
