Who Am I

Not many people can say that they have lived in two totally different environments and
practically neither can I. Though, I haven’t lived my whole life in one place. I could say that I lived long in Addis Abeba. Addis Abeba is a typical social town, a tight knit community where almost every one knows your name. My friend are very close to me. We grew up together and saw each other walk, grow in our neighborhood. Most of my friends don't realize what life is like outside this small city. As a child, so often I used to go to the countryside. When I went to the countryside, I usually was always notified of the differenced of life style and the setup of living of the peasants. I see poverty and the harsh struggle of man against nature just to make a living. I observed a whole different place. Passing by a church, I persisted a motive to exculpate all the poor by doing the best I could and help of my job when I grew up. I feel blessed to have experienced the life style of two comparatively different places; without this diversity I would be different and lack the knowledge I have. I feel it is important to see how different places could be. I believe that through these experiences I have become open minded. I find myself sociable with people and able to create relationships more easily. To make it in the real
world, you must deal with people from different backgrounds. I have had good training in this.
Here I am, Amare Tola, an immigrant from Ethiopia in the United States with an honest passion for education and betterment of myself. I have dreams and ambitions that now only on a grass root level but which I hope one day will have a big outcome.
