It is interesting to note that many individuals will have their views and opinions on any given matter in this world. Although they may be correct in relation to their concept for change, there will be many factors to consider why such statements would be made in relation to what may necessarily be the best possible solution for this problem. My question of concern would be "Why would scientists come to the conclusion that controlling the world population versus controlling consumer-oriented lifestyles which we see today is a greater factor? Let us look at both closely with the inclusion of the third party whose belief is based on stewardship.
According to the American Heritage dictionary, ‘sustainability’ which comes form the root word sustains meaning to nourish, keep in existence with the basic necessities; Capable of being continued with minimal long-term effect on the environment is so important in our future development. Clearly, from this meaning, one would quickly eliminate the argument of the scientist.   However, as we see in our world today, there are many nations which are unable to provide for their country's population, which results in starvation, poverty and increased disease infestation.   For example the slums of Nairobi, Kenya. Although alive, according to the standards of general living, the occupants of these villages are unemployed, under paid, under nourish and do not have the basic necessities needed to be maintained (electricity, water, food, money).   They are often overlooked by the   government, but are used as a source of cheap labor by some businesses.   Another such example of this is China, the vast population rate for this country has caused the need for there to be a policy which was implemented to protect the population growth. Although a very productive country, the policy was geared toward   limiting one child per family, thus requiring permission for another offspring.   Mainly affecting the urban...
