Us History

The President of the United States is continuously under pressure to make the correct decisions for our country. Sometime, he does not make the right decisions and after all, he is human, and humans make mistakes. Many presidents have tried to stop the violence in the Middle East between the Palestinians and Israelis, but had no success. If I were president, I would let them fight amongst each other. The leaders of each side need to step up and try to compromise. I believe is not the Presidents of the United States problem to get involved in this particular foreign affair. The conflict has been going on for a long time ever since the United Nation gave a piece of land to the Israelis. There not much, we can do to help them; previous presidents have tried to help by being an intermediary in hopes of an agreement.
The Iraq is a huge mistake by the bush administration. They claimed weapons of mass destructions, none could be found. If I were president, I would have tried to find Osama Bin Laden, who is a prime suspect in the September 11 attacks, and not enter Iraq. I would have made it a main goal to find Osama, sending troops and military officials to Afghanistan to gather information about Bin Laden. I would have never thought about getting a war in Iraq, in, which has little benefit to the United States. Now in bush’s place I would pull the American solders out of Iraq, which is costing American millions of dollars everyday and American casualties.
If I were president, the conflict with Iran would be different. I would have tried to not resort to the “Iran Contra” in which the U.S. aided Nicaraguan rebels who conducted a guerrilla war against the government of Nicaragua, from the profits gained by selling arms to Iran. The U.S. would also receive the American hostages in the deal with Iran. I would again stay out of Nicaragua; let the people rule their country.
