External influences
This piece of coursework is about influences on the business by external aspects. Most companies can manage what is going on inside their personal organisation but has little control over what occurs outside the world of business. In this coursework I will identify external influences, considering how this affects Tesco and Cadbury’s and suggest ways that both companies can manage themselves to minimise the impact of what goes on in the outside.
External influences are factors that affect the business, which the business cannot control. There are many external influences that can affect an organisation. There are events or situations that occur that may have a dramatic change on the way a business operates, either in a positive or negative way. This is called driving forces.
There are two kinds of driving forces; Internal driving forces, and external driving forces. Internal driving forces are those kinds of aspects that occur inside the business, and are generally under the control of the company. Examples of this include the organization of machinery and equipment, technological capacity and supervision of the workforce. External driving forces are those kinds of circumstances that happen outside of the company and are beyond the control of the company. Examples of external driving forces may include, the industry itself, the economy, competition and political interference.
Whether they are internal or external driving forces, one thing is certain for both, Change will occur. A company must be aware of these changes, flexible, and willing to respond to them in an appropriate ways in order to adjust correctly and keep the business afloat.
