Why Should We Tax The Fat Companies

Why Should We Tax The Fat Companies

There are only a few words an executive could not stand, like a vampire in front of a crucifix or a clove of garlic. But the word "tax" is among them.

The big companies try by all the means to avoid paying the taxes. The Fat Cats - that is their surnames - have the choice: Subsidiary companies abroad, payment of royalties, depreciation on the mark in the Netherlands or inscription on the trade register in Switzerland. All is good as long as you avoid returning to people what they bring to you.

The example which joins together best all of these methods is Total Fina. Here in Toulouse, Total has a special reputation since AZF. In Brittany, they did not wait AZF to bear Total a grudge, a huge grudge. Because not only Total avoids by all the means paying its taxes whereas it tries by all the means of obtaining the State aids, but in addition it pollutes the public goods. It poured so much oil on the coasts of Brittany that the United States could have tried to invade Brest. Total would avoid more than a half of its taxes by various processes. And do not tell me that Total does not benefit from the public goods. Let me remember you that Total did still not refund the 2 billion euros which the catastrophe of AZF costs. The taxpayers have already advanced the sum. Your parents, and in a certain way, you and me.
The companies which make huge profits while destroying the community property must be forced by the taxes to compensate the people, all the people.

It's true that big companies and holdings create wealth and jobs. But if they only create accountants who save them to pay and wealth for their executives, there will be a problem, that is just maths. The gap between rich and poor is a reality, and it is becoming larger and larger. That is a FAT, sorry, that is a FACT.
