Willam Bradfor Vs. John Smith
John Smith and William Bradford were both very important historical figures of the seventeenth century. Their social standings and life differed from each other very much.
Smith was a selfish man who never worried or cared about anybody or their feelings. Unlike Smith Bradford was a kind man. He was always focused on everyone and not just himself. He never acted selfish or greedy. Smith never treated people who didn’t have his social standings like a human being.
Smith did not get along with the Native Americans. He believed that they were savages. The Indians that captured him brought him to their leader named Powhatan. Powhatan didn't like him, so he threatened him to death and began to plan his death. Powhatan's daughter, Pocahontas, fell in love with Smith and gained her fathers trust. He soon became Powhatan's son. As appose to Smith, Bradford made peace with the Native American people. The Native Americans got along well with the pilgrims (Bradford) they even shared thanksgiving diner with them.
On the other hand, Bradford came to America for free religion, and to join a society. In contrast to Bradford, Smith was in it for the money. He didn’t care about anything else really, money was his main focus. He was very self indulged.
