Introduction

The wind is the one of the strongest and unlimited resources in the world.   The wind’s energy can topple houses down if it is blowing hard enough.   Scientists for centuries have dreamed of one day harnessing the power of wind.   Today wind power is being used as an alternative source of energy at an increasing rate all across the globe.   In fact, wind power is finally expanding into the great state of Utah.   Utah is a great candidate to generate wind power because the powerful canyon winds are present year round.   Our research consists mostly of online resources, interviews, and our marketing textbook.   The first step in gaining acceptance of wind power in Utah is educating the consumers in the state.   Researching this subject and collecting useful information about wind power is necessary to construct an accurate marketing plan for our clients.

Research Question
The main research question that we hoped to answer is how to get wind power into Utah.   Our research was centered on the education that is needed in Utah so that wind power can become a readily available alternative energy source.   We believe if there was more information about wind power being provided to average consumers there would be more of an interest and people will be more willing and open to the idea.   Our clients’ find this information important because they want wind power to come to Utah to provide a clean energy source for consumers.   In finding the level of knowledge that our target markets have this aids in preparing a marketing plan geared specifically toward who we want and what information needs to be included.
