Introduction
Everything that is written, spoken or implied, lends itself to the quest for meaning and purpose. Religionism, athiesm, agnosticism, diesm, philosophyism, psychologyism, satanism, consumerism and all other isms are attempts to find that allusive character known as the meaning of life.
Life's pilgrimmage is always taking us somewhere else. That somewhere else is usually a journey toward self. Western civilization is about the glorification of self. Self is adrift in a sea of hedonism and confusion. Humanity feels an obligation to reinvent self in the first person singular, which only disengages self from community. Existential busy-ness centered around self is a search for meaning that returns void.
